The power of the Basic Panel - Part III of the Lightroom tutorial video series

Greetings all…

We released another “Lightroom for Absolute Beginners” video today and this is the one you shouldn’t skip. If you can get this material down pat, everything else we cover in the next seven videos will make a lot more sense.

The Basic Panel of the Lightroom Develop Module is where you can apply global adjustments to your images. With the information in this video you will be able to:

  1. Set or correct the white balance

  2. Recover details that have been lost in the lightest and darkest parts of the image

  3. Add punch to the midtones without affecting the lightest and darkest parts of your shot

  4. Selectively boost the saturation of only the least saturated colors in the image

  5. Add extra contrast to only the most detailed parts of the image

  6. Remove atmospheric haze to sharpen landscapes

But that is just the beginning! This panel is your key to the kingdom. Once you understand what each of the adjustment sliders in this panel can do, you can start to experiment with your own photographs and begin to develop a unique style that fits your photography.

Hope you enjoy the video and i’ll see you soon in Part IV!
