What size sensor for handheld macro photography?

This weeks video was really just a good excuse to go for a wander around a local wildlife refuge. The idea was that I would take both a full frame (my Nikon D850) and a crop sensor camera (my Nikon D7500) on a macro walk to see which one preformed better.

It was an absolutely stunning day for a walk in nature. I wasn’t too impressed with the photographs (though I really liked the one above), but they were good enough for me to make a few soft recommendations to anyone who is still trying to decide the best camera to take out in the field.
