Playing with light - rainy day photographs

Welcome back!

All of a sudden, fall has arrived. And with it has come a bunch of rain. Trapped indoors, I decided to see what I could find laying around the house that might be worth photographing. This is what I came up with.

Soap bubbles - wasn’t expecting such vivid colors and bizarre shapes!

Colored pencils - no idea how they got into my house, but worth a picture anyway.

Splashes and drops… My high-speed triggering system finally gave up the ghost, so these had to be done manually. Without a way to time the droplets, there was no way to capture a collision. But my replacement dropper valve is on its way from the UK and all will soon be good again.

Obviously not indoors, but I’m throwing it in because it was parked in my neighborhood and it is a very cool car

I came across a couple of pieces of glass-art that my wife was particularly fond of. The artist is Josh Simpson - you should check out his work. You can find his website here. Several of the photographs are of the same perfume bottle, but each lighting setup was different.

And one more… with some smoke and lit to accentuate the bubbles

That’s all for now… I have some very interesting projects in the works and should have a couple of new posts up soon!
